As much as I like travelling around East Anglia doing what I do, it’s sometimes nice to work in my local village hall so when Sheila asked if I was available for her and Wayne’s celebrations…I jumped at the chance!
It’s a modern hall with a nice layout and friendly staff where everything just works!
Unfortunately, the day also turned out to be one of the hottest days of 2022’s heatwave 😮
As this was to be my “all day” service covering the wedding breakfast and the evening’s entertainment, I was on site nice and early to get everything setup and checked before guests started arriving.
It was 37 degrees outside!
Eventually the guests filtered inside and we started the afternoon’s festivities with me on background music duties whilst the guests enjoyed the buffet wedding breakfast, followed by speeches.
I must say, the venue and the colour-scheme for the day looked gorgeous!
Wedding breakfast formalities over though, and the guests soon migrated outside again so nice was the weather, and who could blame them.
The evening party
Now I’m a realist. As much as I LIVE to see a dance floor full of happy guests throwing shapes for the evening, I’ve also been doing my job for enough years to know that this particular wedding reception was never going to be like that.
The weather outside was too much of an attraction for a cold beer on the patio, and it was too hot to dance.
You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it dance once it’s there.
I had a playlist of pre-requests which guests had asked for, and was allowed to take requests during the evening so it was going to be a case of enjoying a relaxed evening with guests listening to the music from outside the building.
And I must of got something right because I received the following testimonial from Sheila the next day.

Whilst I didn’t manage to capture too many photos during the evening, I also had a problem with the image quality (this is why I specialise in the music side of things and not the photography). Below are the better quality images I captured but even they’re a little blurry for some reason.
