My final wedding at Longstowe Hall of the 2024 season, and what a wedding this was!
Maria and Alexander had hired me for the afternoon and evening part of their wedding, with parents providing live music during the ceremony part.
This was a chance to test out my new white setup on a large stage – and it didn’t disappoint! I’m getting a lot of compliments on how tidy and clean it is for weddings.
Maria and Alexander were brought into the reception room when it was time to eat with cheers and applause to a song of their choosing (I’m Yours by Nina Simone), and then it was time for food to be served.
Whilst eating, I played a selection of music also chosen by Maria and Alexander at background levels allowing guests to talk and enjoy their food. In fact one of the tracks was a little tricky to find (it featured Alexander in the backing choir), but find it I did and it was played!
Speeches were a little difficult due to problems with the microphones on the day (now resolved so it won’t happen again), but we worked around the problems and all went to plan.
After the wedding breakfast, the guests decanted to the Orangery next to the marquee to watch a performance by an Irish folk band, or which Maria’s a member.
And onto the evening....
This was always going to be fun!
What I haven’t mentioned so far is that the guests came from all four corners of the globe, many from Germany and France but a lot further too such as Japan.
Maria and Alexander had provided some ideas on music steer, particularly on the international front, and the rest was up to my selections and requests from guests.
The dance floor rarely emptied!
