I’d been looking forward to Vicky and Luke’s wedding at Swynford Manor for a very long time.
I’ve known Vicky for several years, and she’d chosen to marry in one of my favourite venues so this was always going to be a good night.
So, being Swynford it’ the “Classic White” setup which matches the venue decor perfectly without being to overkill.
I had only one instruction….”do not under any circumstances play Sweet Caroline”. No problem.
The rest of the night was to be a mixture of a few favourites Vicky & Luke had pre-selected with guest requests well and truly permitted.
There was one other instruction….the first dance (Perfect by Ed Sheeran and Beyonce) was to see the Bridesmaids firing off confetti canons at a certain point in the track to signal that Vicky & Luke’s guests should join them on the dance floor.
Between the photographer and myself, we coordinated the Bridesmaids and agreed hand signals for when to fire, only for one of them to get a bit over-enthusiastic and fire early, causing major giggles and innuendos from around the dance floor.
So, onto the rest of the evening. It was a nice full dance floor with a LOT of really good music, and much better than I’d imagined for a Monday night wedding which can sometimes be a little flat.
